A family friend happened to mention to me the other day that he was eating jalapeno hummus. He didn’t make it, he bought it, but he also inspired me to create my own recipe (thanks Amazon!). I’ve never tried jalapeno hummus before. WOW… it’s tasty! Definitely puts a nice spin on the average plain jane hummus. BUT, that’s only if you enjoy spicing things up. =)
If you like things really hot, start with 1/4 cup of sliced jalapenos and add more if needed!
1 can of garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
3 TBSP tahini
2 TBSP lemon juice
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp cummin
1/4 – 1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 cup jarred sliced jalapenos
Drain the garbanzo beans reserving the liquid.
Place all ingredients in a blender, excluding the liquid from the garbanzo beans. Blend, and thin out to desired consistency using the reserved garbanzo bean liquid. Serve with your favorite veggies, rice crackers, etc…

Sounds yummy! I think I would like spicy hummus!
So, I seriously LOVED this- thanks! I'll be making it for Brett if he ever comes home.
